New Nik Color Efex Video Post

If you have been following my series of video posts on the Essential Landscape filters found in the Nik Color Efex software, I have uploaded the fourth in the series. This is possibly the last of these so if anyone has a particular request relating to Nik filters or other aspects of image editing let me know and I will add this to the list for future videos.

If you haven’t already visited my You Tube channel the link is below:

I hope you enjoy.

  1. Thanks for these. They are very informative. As for a future topic, how about one on preparing photos for conversion to BW and then using Silver Efex Pro?

  2. Thanks for this excellent series Robin. Through your books I first became a Nik user & it’s still my “go to” filter set. However, I do worry about the fact that Nik is no longer being developed & I downloaded the latest version of Photoshop with some trepidation fearing Nik may no longer be compatible. It was (although I am having some issues using the Brush tool) but I’m guessing that one day it won’t be. Consequently I’ve started using the Topaz filters… but I’m desperate for some easy to use instruction like the stuff you provided for Nik. Yes there’s loads of videos on the Topaz YouTube channel but they tend to be long & too detailed. I need your simple “cut through the flannel – here’s what you should do” style. So… have you considered developing a Topaz series. I for one would be more than happy to buy a Whalley book on it!

    1. Hi David. Great that your finding the material helpful. I’m also a fan of Topaz software as well as On 1, Exposure from Alien Skin and PhotoWiz plug-in’s. It is my intention to include some Topaz videos because as you say, they do tend to be quite lengthy. If you take a look at my site https://Lenscraft.co.uk you will find there are already some Topaz video tutorials on there. I did these to support the two books that I published on Topaz plug-ins. Keep watching, thre’s more to come.

      1. Hi robin, I didn’t realise you done any topaz books. Are they available on kindle?

  3. Robin, your style of teaching is perfect for me. Thank you so much!

  4. Hi Robin

Thank you for your videos on Nik. You asked a few weeks ago what people would like you to do to help them. This type of video is excellent as I find it takes me ages to improve my images in Photoshop and people with more experience always seem to do things better. Also people are reluctant to help you! The HDR image into Silver Efx was so simple but impressive.

I have used Photoshop for a while but also have Lightroom as part of the PS CC package. I would find lessons on Lightroom very useful and how you can work in both programmes.

I moved onto an Olympus 4/3 camera following your emails etc., so anything around using a 4/3 camera would be good.

    Many Thanks.

  5. Hi Robin

Thanks for recent posts – catching up after being away.

One topic (or several) I’d really like to see is the Lightroom Print Module, which I really haven’t got my head around.

    Thanks

    Pam
