Friday Image No. 154

Rock face in the quarry at Holme Fell, The Lake District. Sony A7R

A few readers appeared to like the rock shot from my previous post so I thought I would share another from the same shoot and location. If you want to see more of the location you can view my video on You Tube.

There is another point I should make about my last blog post. I mentioned I was trying a new paper that I hadn’t used before (Fotospeed Pearl 290) and using a generic printer profile (from the Fotospeed website). The printed image was nice but a little too dark. I have since realised this was my mistake. I had soft proofed using the correct profile but printed using a profile for a different paper. There are two lessons here:

  1. Change the name of all profiles to be obvious and unique.
  2. Check everything twice before hitting print. I may have written a book on printing (Perfect Prints Every Time – sorry but I must shamelessly promote myself) but I still make mistakes.

I hope you like the image and have a great weekend.
