I must start this post by wishing everyone a belated Happy New Year and by apologising. My last post was on the 23rd December and I haven’t been able to publish anything since due to illness. I came down with a very nasty bug on Christmas Day and have spent much of the time since in bed asleep. Hopefully I’m now on the mend and can begin to post a little more. But please forgive me if I’m not back to full speed for a while.
I did manage to upload a short video on YouTube whilst I was ill. I had already done most of the post production work but you will notice it finishes rather abruptly. I have lost my voice so won’t be able to do the editing part until I can speak again. Hopefully that won’t be long but some might disagree.
Anyway, here’s to a productive 2017 with some great photography for everyone.

A wonderful photo!
Get well soon, and a happy new year to you too! Keep up the good work I enjoy TLP!
Thank you. Hopefully I will have some more interesting material to share soon.
A Happy and hopefully Healthier New Year to you. Look forward to your next post: I find your articles very enjoyable and informative. I have just watched your video lesson “Tools of the Darkroom Masters” and it has given me a whole new insight on ways to improve my B&W conversions.
Thanks. Great to know you like the video as well.
A very Happy, healthy and productive New Year to you and your family. But stop apologising – everybody is allowed to be ill.
I hope that your New Year’s resolution is to continue with GAS Anonymous meetings (joke) and stay with Fuji all year, PLEASE!
Thanks Mike. And yes, I do intend to stay with the Fuji (alongside the Sony and Olympus) at least the XT2. I think the XT1 will go.
Thanks for sharing, feel better soon!
Hope you are feeling better soon. I am in southern India to do yoga and lost my first week to a very bad cold I’m sure I caught on the plane. Return to England on Friday and just hoping I don’t get another one! All the best for the New Year. Cheers, Janet

Thanks Janet. Hope your enjoying India and feel better soon. Being ill at home is bad enough but I just hate it when I’m away.
Sorry to hear about your health problems over the Bank holiday, although the way the weather kept changing it does not surprise me even for us northerners. A very happy New Year and like you I am looking forward to satisfying 2017. All the best Ian

Thanks Ian. I’m actually blaming my daughter for bringing the germs back from France with her.
I too got sick with flu on Christmas and I’m still recovering. Your Higgor Tor photo is interesting in the way you captured the subtle magenta tones in the sky which is always a difficult prospect for any camera and technique. Just wondering how you feel about capturing the actual color that you saw at that time. In other words, is the Fuji worthy of such capture?
Sorry to hear that John. I’m pleased you like the image. I’m really starting to get used to processing with the Fuji. I think the colours in the shot are a little stronger than I experienced at the time but that’s down to the Fuji Provia simulation in Lightroom I think.
Hope you make a speedy recovery Robin! All the best for 2017. Paul
Thanks Paul. I seem to be on the mend now.
I liked the image of Higger Tor Robin. It must be a wonderful location. Sorry to hear you have been ill and hope you will soon be well. Best wishes to you and all member’s for a very Happy and Healthy New Year.
