Last week, I was in Stockholm. I’ve been there before, but it was more than twenty years ago. Then, for some reason, I decided I needed to return. I think watching Michael Portillo’s long weekend in Stockholm tipped me over the edge. I’m so glad I made the trip, as Stockholm this time was even more enjoyable than my previous visit.
At this point, I would love to share more of my photography, as I shot many images with both my camera and iPhone. Unfortunately, I can’t, as I’ve been laid up with the Flu since returning. Even sitting at a desk to write this is proving difficult. So, all I can leave you with is one shot I managed to process.
There isn’t anything too special about this photo of a church other than the magical light, which is what I wanted to capture. The last light of the day hitting the spire, and the contrast with the blue sky, which is also reflected in the window, is wonderful.
I captured it using a Panasonic G9 and Panasonic Leica 12-60 lens at 23mm. The exposure was handheld at 1/50 second, using f/7.1 and ISO200.
If you would like to see more of beautiful Stockholm, watch Michael Portillo’s long weekend in Stockholm. I also recommend checking out the excellent work of Frederik Axling on Instagram, who has some wonderful photographs of the city.
I hope you have a great weekend.
