Landscape Photography Processing

Happy New Year.

I’m not yet back in the swing of things following the Christmas and New Year Break, and I certainly haven’t been able to do any photography. It hasn’t stopped raining here since before Christmas, other than for short spells. I’ve therefore busied myself editing more images from my recent trip to Japan.

Here’s one of my favourite shots from the Kumano Kodo trail.

Morning on the Kumano Kodo Trail in Japan

It was an early start on this morning, and the forest was shrouded in mist. Later in the morning, as we climbed higher, the sun burst through, which is when I captured this image.

I used an Olympus EM5 Mark 3 with a Leica 12-60 lens at 15mm. It was a handheld shot taken at 1/125 second at f/6.3 and ISO800.

When processing the RAW file, I decided to record myself. You can watch the video (https://youtu.be/oBNNb7VGhoI) on my YouTube channel if you’re interested. There isn’t any commentary, but you might still pick up some ideas.

I hope you like the image and have a great weekend.

  1. I am surprised how much better many of these online photos look In full screen on my MacBook Pro 16 ” and again on a 27″ 5K monitor and I suspect there’s enough digital info to print even larger.
    Thanks, Neil deLeeuw
