I know this view has been shot a million times but I still love it. There is something quite magical about standing on a beach, in front of a castle, waiting for the sun to come up. Judging by the huddle of photographers around me at the time, I’m not the only person who thinks this.
Hopefully I can shoot some more images with less well known scenes this weekend.

Robin- gorgeous image! I considered the XT-2 until I noticed there was no stabilization in the camera- just the lenses. Since i have many vintage lenses that are not stabilized that is a big disadvantage. Looks like after your initial issues you are settling down nicely to this camera.
Thank you. Yes, I’m getting much better results with the XT2 now. I do find that I need to use it more like a DSLR than a mirrorless camera though. I still have my Olympus EM5 and prefer that for travel.

You’ve captured that early morning feeling with a very subdued pre-sunrise which prompts that somewhat understated “blue” feeling that accompanies that hour. It’s as if you’re holding a cup of coffee in one hand and smoking a cigarette and waiting for the day to engage while contemplating that magic of the seacape that is so alluring. Just wondering what a BW version would induce. (By the way I don’t condone cigarettes, but it is a tool found in classic cinema to evoke contemplative retrospection).
Well, I don’t smoke but I understand your sentiment. I do love this time of day and the light it brings. I’m pleased that you noticed this as it’s something that I tried to retain in the processing. With film, it was much easier to keep that look.
